Joseph Broucek, MD

Description

Dr. Broucek joins us at Northwell Health as Director of the Abdominal Wall Program for the central market. His areas of clinical interest include robotic & minimally invasive surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction/hernia care, benign diseases of the esophagus and stomach (reflux disease, paraesophageal/hiatal hernias, achalasia, revisions), obesity surgery, revisional gastrointestinal surgery, and general surgery of all kinds. Prior to Northwell, he held the position of Medical Director of General Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center as well as Program Director for their Minimally Invasive Surgery/Foregut/Abdominal Wall Fellowship. Prior to this, he was the Clinical Director of the Vanderbilt Hernia Center. He completed his general surgery training at Rush University Medical Center & Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL. He then completed a minimally invasive surgery fellowship focused on benign and malignant foregut disease, hernias, obesity surgery, and hepatopancreatic biliary surgery at The Mayo Clinic - Florida.
